As we head into another decade OR finish off this one (which seems to be the debate), January is when many brides begin to research, compare and hire vendors as well as plan and prepare for their picture-perfect wedding. With so many things to do in what appears to be so little time, here's a few key tasks to complete during the first weeks of the new year. - If you're a bride and you haven't set a date yet, you better act fast. Not only will it be difficult to begin planning your wedding without a date, but dates are booking up and will continue to fill even for later months like October and November. Remember to keep in mind the time of year, holidays, weather and day of the week as this will play a role in your costs and possibly your theme. - Another important and sometimes difficult task is setting your budget. Take a look at your finances and figure out how much you have saved and how much you and your fiance can save each month. Also ask both parents if they'd like to contribute to your wedding fund. They may be willing to give a certain amount or pay for aspecific thing such as the photographer or the reception alone. When coming up with your budget, try avoid going into debt. Remember, this one spectacular day for you both...but,you don't want to start a marriage with whole lot of debt(in other words, payingfor a wedding after it's over). - Selecting a venue is justas crucial as selecting a date. Many venues are booked a year in advance, so the further in advance you start looking, the more likely you are to get the time, date and cost for your ceremony and reception sites. Your ideal beach-themed wedding in July may not be so ideal in Decemberwhen all the venues are booked up until that month. Don't wait on choosing your venue, but select one as soon as you set your date. You want the pick of the litter and to wed at your first choice site...not another one by default. These three tasks are a must on any bride's "to do list," but even more important to do immediately if you're a bride that has not started planning for a 2010 wedding. Planning for your wedding should be a fun, creative and enjoyable experience, no matter what. So, before you embark on completing these three tasks, make sure you celebrateand enjoy yourengagement! |
